Playing around

I have been playing around with making a little word art, my DH had shoulder surgery just before Christmas so I haven't felt like doing much. He was then kicked in the knee by a 1600 lb steer so now his knee hurts too. Anyway, I hope your Christmas was good and that 2010 turns out to be the best year of your life so far!

Sam wanted an ATC design for the back of her ATC's so this is what I came up with for her. If you would like a copy....email me and I will send you the file. I had fun doing these so maybe I will get in the mood and start making some cute freebies up for you.

Anyways.....We ate pork for dinner to root into a prosperous 2010 and I hope you did too! Lets get this year a rocking!

Merry Christmas to All!

Tonight was the Christmas party for my daughters church and she is the chair for the committee that put it on. Somehow, I manage to get volunteered to be a part of it no matter what the function is and tonight was no different. We spent most of yesterday preparing the fruit & veggies for the display we made and them 2 hours setting it up this evening. She just called me to tell me it was a hit. Her sweet friend Tori and her daughter Miss J are busy working on a small gift for the families. Tori also helped with the beautiful centerpieces on each table.
The backdrop was amazing also, hand made by another member of the church for the Nativity Program that happened the first week of December. It had fiber optic stars that made it even more beautiful.

The display took up a 6 foot table to give you an idea of how big it was. She expected about 300 people so it had to be rather large.

This is my daughter Brandy putting finishing touched to the bouquet in the center of the display. I hope you have a wonderful and safe Christmas season and may you prosper in the New Year.

Wonderful Friends

I have the most wonderful friends. I know I have posted before that I volunteer at the Cancer Treatment Center of America before, well Alyce who doesn't stamp much with us anymore, comes over to visit and knits instead while we stamp has been busy making lap throws, knitted hats & scarfs to donate to our guests at CTCA. She made a whopping 9 throws, 9 hats and 9 scarfs and brought them over to Sam's house to give to me to take. They are FABULOUS! She used double stitch so they are nice and thick and snugly. Sweet JoAnne, donated some $ to Alyce to help with yarn for all the projects. Thanks you both for these wonderful contributions. I should add Sam has donated about 100 cards for the guests also. Vickie has donated cards too. I told you I have wonderful friends. They also make birthday's special.......I will be hitting the double nickel mark soon and Wednesday when we stamped, I was treated to a wonderful tortilla soup and salad lunch with chocolate pumpkin cupcakes and whip cream frosting.....YUMMY, YUMMY. Sam made me these adorable place mats using thread that actually sparkles. They are so darn cute. Everyone made me adorable cards too. I can't thank you guys enough for your generosity and thoughtfulness. YOU ARE THE BEST! Oops I almost forgot....Sam knitted me a adorable dishcloth too!

See the sparkle thread?

Redo & card

I made a little fall card....6x6 so I guess it isn't little but it is a fall card. Not sure if I like it or not.
I decided to redo a family picture wall so I picked up some 12x12 scrapbook frames, made these pages from Rasberry Road Designs kits Celestial Bliss, framed them & love the look. No journaling on them, just a picture.

Thanks for peeking!

Cannon Ball

I normally volunteer at the Cancer Treatment Center of America on Thursday's but my throat has been sore all day so I figured it was best to stay home & not spread any bug so instead I played all day. I have made a digi page for all of my grandkids lately except this little guy. Today was his day. I used a kit called Tiki Kit by Kay Miller. I love her style so it was fun to make this page.
Thanks for looking.........

Fun week

This week DH was out of town...although I missed him, I loved the fact I was able to play more than usual. The girls and I got together on Wednesday and played too. Below are some cards we made. This 1st card was a BRAK from Sam, I did her a little favor & she made me this darling card as a thank you. Sam's Wednesday shoebox card

The rest are cards I made while the cat was away. I used a Papercraft magazine template for the shoe, the top of the shoe was placed on the fold so it opens up. I made the sentiment on the computer.

Santa made with punches, I ran white cardstock thru a xyron & them put dazzling diamonds on it before I punched out all the snowflakes.

Card base on glossy paper, stamp is obsession impressions, snowflakes are punched (MS, SU) diamond centers I grabbed at just4funcrafts.com.

Dustin Pike Santa image, Reindeer is Cornish Heritage stamp by Kim Hughes, scalloped rectangle is celebrations #5 cricut cartridge, tree is old die cut I had laying around.

I picked up a template at Gotta Pixel, the designer is Rose.li and I made it into a hybrid layered cow. Word art I made on the computer.
